The Japan-Saudi Arabia Industrial Cooperation Task Force (TF) and the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON) held their second joint technical workshop at the latter's headquarters in Riyadh recently.

"Representatives from various Japanese companies discussed possible business opportunities on logistics and water treatment solutions inside MODON's industrial cities," Shihegaru Satake, TF's business support office general manager, told Arab News. They also held talks with experts from local logistics companies and were invited by MODON for future partnership. Headed by Takashi Mitsuka, TF vice secretary general, the Japanese delegation included representatives from Hitachi Plant Technology, Kobelco Eco-Solutions, and Torishma Pump.

Saleh Ibrahim Al-Rasheed, an engineer and MODON's director general, expressed happiness over the Japanese participation in the workshop. He expressed his hope for future cooperation between TF and MODON. Al-Rasheed also referred to the memorandum of understanding (MOU) whose aim is to further strengthen collaboration.

The MOU was signed during the "Saudi-Japan Business Opportunity Forum" in Tokyo in February. 2012. The forum was attended by some 200 businessmen from the Kingdom and Japan.
