ABU DHABI, 20th October, 2016 (WAM) -- Syrian refugee, Khaldoon Sinjab, and his family have arrived in Abu Dhabi from Beirut on an especially-equipped plane, where he will receive medical treatment at Cleveland Clinic, Abu Dhabi.

The humanitarian gesture was ordered by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Quadriplegic Khaldoon, who is unable to move, took refuge in Lebanon in August 2012. He also suffers respiratory problems following an accident 1994.

The UAE Embassy in Lebanon, through its Humanitarian and Development Attache Office, followed this humanitarian case and initiated contacts with all concerned authorities to facilitate the transport of Khaldoon and his family yesterday, via Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut.

Director of the Attache's office, Musallam Obaid Al Mansouri, said that this gesture reflects the UAE's continuous humanitarian activities aimed at reaching out to all needy and affected people to support them and ease their suffering.
