Damascus - Members of Damascus Chamber of Commerce on Monday discussed with a Turkish delegation from the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MSİAD) in the Turkish city of Rize and the Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association in Istanbul (TUSIAD) economic cooperation and investment prospects in Syria and Turkey.

The two sides called for benefiting from the agreements signed to increase the volume of trade exchange and promoting reciprocal visits to make use of investment and trade opportunities available in the two countries.

Deputy Chairman of Damascus Chamber of Commerce Nizar Qabbani called on Turkish businessmen to make use of Syria's investment environment and its good relations with the Arab countries which facilitate the movement of goods.

For his part, the head of the Turkish delegation indicated to the interest of the two countries' leaderships in boosting bilateral relations, lauding the economic reforms that took place in Syria which created an appropriate atmosphere to attract investments.

Syria and Turkey have signed more than 50 agreements laying strong foundation for joint cooperation in all fields. The two countries aim to reach a trade volume of USD 5 billion in the next few years.
