Conventional wisdom suggests that software platforms will inevitability drive the hardware and holds the key to consumer adoption. Wearables' success depends on backing from one or more of the big five software platforms -- Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google and Microsoft.

One of the conference sessions will explore the wearables landscape and should be one of the most extensive ever developed and held in the region. Looking at how wearables are being used by consumers, patients, and physicians to gain valuable information that can be used in overall wellness and disease management programs.

Health 2.0 Middle East - Dubai is the premier conference dedicated to how Web 2.0 and social media are transforming healthcare systems in the Middle East. The conference brings together professionals in the converging industries of healthcare, the internet, mobile applications and social media to address how Web 2.0 and mobile technologies revolutionize both healthcare delivery and treatment.

Kenneth Seymens, the Managing Partner of MedicaIQ and the Health 2.0 Middle East Partner was recently asked, "Why convene a healthcare conference a day before and the first day of Arab Health?" He replied, "We get that question a lot. Health 2.0 isn't just another healthcare conference, after thirteen successful conferences across the globe, Health 2.0 has become the place to see and be seen for global leaders in health care technology and innovation. Arab Health is an excellent medical equipment exhibition. However, it's not a health innovation show, full stop."
