SIB will participate in the 18th National Career Exhibition

Sharjah, UAE - Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB) is set to participate in the 18th National Career Exhibition which will be held at the Expo Centre Sharjah from the 10th to 12th of February 2016. Its participation is part of the bank's constant endeavor to increase the Emiratisation percentage in its total workforce and to attract, retain and develop national talents in the UAE.

Sharjah Islamic Bank has previously received the award for Highest Emiratisation rate in the private sector in the GCC. Through this participation, SIB seeks to boost its efforts in Emiratisation, with plans to recruit 30 Emirati fresh graduates from high schools and universities, and to attract highly qualified and experienced administrative and financial professionals from different backgrounds to support the bank's branches and departments in line with its expansion strategy, as the bank intends to open new branches in 2016.

SIB will highlight its plans to create an attractive work environment for ambitious, skilled, national talents who are motivated to serve the banking sector in the UAE. It will also showcase its strategy in nurturing the skills of its national employees and the training programmes available at the bank to prepare a new generation of national leaders in the banking industry.

Sharjah Islamic Bank offers many career development programmes to its Emirati employees, including Ruwaad, which is designed to qualify and prepare national employees in the bank to fill middle and senior leadership positions; Massar, which is designed to engage employees in specialised skill development training to enable them to acquire integrated banking experience and knowledge, giving them the opportunity to fill senior positions in the bank and its many branches in the UAE; and Mihnati, which is designed to help university and college undergraduates define their future careers and focus on appropriate disciplines based on hands-on practice.

Speaking on the occasion, Fadhila Al Marzouqi, Head of the National Human Resources Development Unit at Sharjah Islamic Bank, said: "Our long-standing commitment to participate in the National Career Exhibition is part of our efforts to meet and greet job seekers, and introduce existing job opportunities available to Emirati fresh graduates as well as the rewards and benefits we offer. This leading exhibition provides an ideal platform that serves our plans to recruit more national talents and strengthen our commitment to increase the Emiratisation percentage in the bank. These efforts to develop skilled Emirati human resources and prepare a group of leaders who are able to develop the banking sectors are consistent with the bank's core strategy and our Emiratisation strategy, which focuses on attracting, retaining and developing the Emirati workforce."

In line with its efforts to provide career guidance courses to university, college and school students by organising visits to these educational and academic institutions, the National Human Resources Development Unit at SIB has recently organised a series of workshops, the most recent of which was at the HCT Sharjah Woman's College. The bank will organise a similar workshop at Zayed University in February under the title "Your Future Your Choice", with the aim to help students select their career paths and develop their skills to meet the local market's needs for Emirati talents in many sectors.
