DOHA: Business leaders and banking and finance specialists from across Qatar and the region will attend a breakfast seminar on corporate debt restructuring at the Al Sharq Hotel on October 31.
Sponsored by global audit, tax and advisory firm, KPMG, the seminar will consider the recent restructuring developments in Middle East and looks at the challenges and themes around it from the perspective of lenders and financial participants.
Qatar-based partner and head of financial services, Omar Mahmood, said, restructuring is not new to the region although the focus has increased post the crisis, as corporates face increased pressure to service the debt and banks are concerned about the credit standing of their clients.
"There is a need for corporates to pragmatically review their position and as applicable, undertake steps to overcome the challenges rather than wait and let the problem blow-up," said Mahmood.
