Saudization Nitaqat quota includes employers
RIYADH - Saudi employers will be counted as part of the Nitaqat Program's Saudization quotas, said Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Abduljabbar, Director General of Insurance Information at the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI).
The Nitaqat Program automatically includes the employer in the Saudization percentage, provided he or she registers the establishment with the Social Insurance Scheme and does not work for another company, Al-Abduljabbar said in a report carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Wednesday.
He said that he wanted to explain the situation after GOSI received many requests from employers demanding that they be registered with the Social Insurance Scheme so that they can be included in the Saudization percentage of the Nitaqat Program.
Al-Abduljabbar added that the Social Insurance Law does not provide for the compulsory registration of an employer with the Social Insurance Scheme, but it states that the employer may voluntarily contribute to the scheme.
Al-Abduljabbar pointed out that if the employer contributed voluntarily, he will not appear on the system among the workers of his establishment. Al-Abduljabbar said that the data of Saudi contributors will appear on the ministry's system if it is sent electronically and if the employer completes the link-up procedures of the Ministry of Labor and GOSI.
