Saudi delegation briefed on Dubai eGovernment's Loans Management System and its successful application in MRHE
Dubai eGovernment Department has showcased its leading experience of applying the Government Resources Planning (GRP) systems to a delegation from the Saudi Industrial Development Fund ( SIDF ). The Saudi delegation was welcomed by Wesam Lootah, Assistant Director General, Dubai eGovernment Department, who valued communication with regional entities for developing government work across the region. Lootah expressed Dubai eGovernment Department's readiness to be a think tank for all Arabs based on the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Also attending the meeting were Huda Al Hashimi, Director of GRP Department, Dubai eGovernment, and Jassem Mohammed Obaid Sobait, Director of Finance and Administration, Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment ( MRHE ), which has successfully applied Dubai eGovernment's Loans Management System to manage and track all the housing loans granted to UAE nationals in Dubai.

"It was our pleasure to welcome the SIDF delegation and showcase Dubai eGovernment's expertise in financial systems, particularly the Loans Management System that covers the complete lending cycle from origination through maturity, giving a comprehensive view of the entire process to help make better decisions," said Huda Al Hashimi.

"Dubai eGovernment is committed to promoting corporate excellence as well as administrative and service decentralization to drive digital transformation. The Department's commitment to support all parties that want to capitalize on its expertise in providing shared eServices reflects the vision and directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai," she added.

The visit included a presentation by the Dubai eGovernment Loans Management System team, which gave a brief on the GRP systems and highlighted the role of Loan Management as a key part of this integrated system. The delegation was also briefed on MRHE 's experience and successful application of this system, such experience being seen as a successful model for tracking the housing loans given to UAE nationals in Dubai, from loan approval to delivery of the housing unit. The MRHE also oversees the implementation of the entire construction process through direct contact with contractors and consultants and guarantees strong interdependence between banks and Dubai Government departments to facilitate the collection of loans through best international practices, which allow establishing a highly efficient, internationally accredited Accounting Information System (AIS) to help promote budget monitoring, account activation, work efficiency and government performance.

The visiting delegation lauded the overwhelming achievements of Dubai eGovernment in the last few years, as evidently shown by Dubai's strong footprint in the knowledge economy. It considered the visit as a valuable opportunity to look into the best practices and expertise in GRP mechanism.

Currently adopted by 42 public entities, the Government Resources Planning systems play a vital role in achieving integration between the various governmental authorities in Dubai. These systems are composed of 25 streams that provide a platform for more efficient management of basic resources and human competencies. These systems are critical because they allow Dubai eGovernment to provide a unified platform for reliable data, according to the highest standards of quality and performance.
