DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)--Saudi Telecom Co. (7010.SA), or STC, said Wednesday it has appointed Khaled Bin Abdulaziz Al Ghunaim as the company's new chief executive officer effective June 18.
"STC announces that the company's board had approved at its meeting held on Tuesday, June 5, the appointment of Khaled Bin Abdulaziz Al Ghunaim as CEO for the group," the telco said in a statement posted on the Saudi bourse website.
In April, Saud al-Daweesh, who was STC's CEO since December 2006, had resigned.
STC shares closed up 0.3% at SAR40.10 Tuesday.
