Cairo, Egypt, 19 June 2013 - Following the outstanding launch of Egypt's first mobile application developers initiative; Entaleq, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, the global leader and award-winning innovator, has announced that the initiative has garnered over 800 participants to date, with the number still rapidly rising. The initial launch began on 3rd April 2013 with roughly two weeks left to go now until 30th June, which is the deadline for keen individuals to enter the competition.

Samsung is constantly keen to support Entaleq participants; as such it recently held a seminar on 8th June 2013 in the Information Technology Institute (ITI). During the seminar, Samsung announced that in collaboration with the ITI, a lab space in ITI's building will be provided; where all Entaleq participants can test and run their applications. This lab has been equipped with thirty desk stations; each including one computer and one high end smartphone.

"Samsung is constantly striving to provide support for Egyptian youth in the development of local talent and provide them with the tools to successfully develop their own businesses," said Duke Park, Vice President of Samsung Egypt. "We're very excited about the increasing number of applicants participating in Entaleq, and are looking forward with much enthusiasm to see the creative applications presented by each of them."

Moreover, during the seminar, Raafat Khalil, Solution and Services Manger - HHP Division at Samsung Egypt provided the attendees with technical insights to support them through the application development process. The seminar also showcased Samsung's latest trends in mobile technologies and SMART TV.

"Over the years, we have been able to build a wealth of expertise as a leader in the electronics industry. As a responsible player in the market, we believe it is our role to share our knowledge with young developers to help them excel in the globally evolving applications market," said Sherif Barakat, Head of HHP Division at Samsung Egypt. "Samsung launched Entaleq not only to encourage developers to utilize their innovative potential in developing applications, but to also to serve as a platform where we can provide them with several workshops and presentations that will further enhance their skills."

Samsung is also offering developers manuals and tutorials through the website that is also being continuously updated in order to assist the participating developers.

The Entaleq initiative will gather Egypt's best mobile application developers. Furthermore, the top developers will be chosen based on a set of criteria determined by Samsung, to insure entries are original, innovative and uniquely designed. Entries are also required to be user friendly and offering needed services/solutions to users. Participants wishing to enter Entaleq are required to register through the challenge's website: www.samsungentaleq.com or the Samsung Egypt Facebook page.
