Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, begins a two-day visit to Turkey today where he will hold talks with Turkish President Abdullah Gul on a wide range of bilateral and regional issues.

The crown prince will also discuss issues of mutual interest with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Crisis in Syria and developments in the Muslim world will also figure in the talks between Crown Prince Salman and the Turkish leadership.

This is the first foreign visit of Prince Salman since he became the crown prince.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia have common views on national and international issues and both the countries want an end to the miseries of the Syrian people.

The crown prince's visit aims at enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two countries.
