Muscat: Salalah Mills Co. has announced that it has concluded a wheat shipment contract.  Ahmed Alawi Al Dhahab, CEO of the company, stated that the company has purchased 30,000 tonnes of Russian wheat through the process of global tender, for delivery in the month of September, 2013.

Nine companies had submitted their bids and Noble Resources was selected being the best offer.  Al Dhahab said that the shipment shall be allocated for export and he added that the top management of the company monitors the wheat market closely to choose the best time for the purchase of wheat. The purchase price was not disclosed. However, Reuters reported that the purchase price said to be about $304 per tonne.
