Abu Dhabi - UAE: Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), managed by Cleveland Clinic, announces the working hours in all its facilities during the upcoming holiday of Isra'a and Mi'raj which was declared in the UAE on 30 June 2011. SKMC is part of the SEHA HealthSystem and is owned and operated by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company PJSC (SEHA), which is responsible for the curative activities of all the public hospitals and clinics in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
SKMC Administration and its facilities including Al Bateen, Al Khaleej, Al Manhal, Al Mushrif, Al Rowda and Al Zafaranah Family Medicine Clinics; Abu Dhabi Dental Center; Al Dhafra Dental Center; Outpatient Specialty Clinics and Infusion Center; and the Outpatient Clinics of Behavioral Sciences Pavilion (BSP) will be fully closed on Thursday, 30 June 2011. Duties will be resumed on Sunday, 3 July 2011. However, Al Bateen Family Medicine Clinic will re-open as per its normal schedule on Saturday, 2 July 2011.
Inpatient services and Emergency Department will naturally remain open at all time. Moreover, Al Ettihad and Khaldiyah Urgent Care Centers will remain open during the holiday as per normal schedule from 8:00 am until 1:00 am, throughout the week.
SKMC's Renal Unit will remain open during the holiday as per their usual schedule from 7:00 am until 12:00 midnight and will continue to provide a 24 hour dialysis on-call service for peritoneal and hemodialysis.
Abu Dhabi Blood Bank will remain open during the holiday as per their usual schedule from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Saturday from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm. Blood supply to hospitals will continue to be offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
"SKMC is keen on keeping the public and our patients informed of any changes in our working hours during holidays and national events. This comes as part of our obligation to educate the community on the timings and the best venues to visit for medical problems," Dr. Tej Maini, CEO of SKMC added.

Patients also have around-the-clock access to SKMC's Emergency Department, the major trauma center in Abu Dhabi, for life-threatening cases such as allergic reactions, broken bones, chest pain, difficulties in breathing, fever in young infants, head injuries, medication overdoses, motor vehicle trauma, poisoning, seizures, severe abdominal pain, serious burns, serious wounds, and vomiting and diarrhea in young children. The Emergency Department also includes a 10-bed area specifically designed for children and is located at the ground floor of SKMC's Surgical Pavilion.
Patients can also visit during the holiday Al Khalidiyah Urgent Care Center and Al Ettihad Urgent Care Center for urgent cases that are not life-threatening and can usually be treated without visiting the Emergency Department. These conditions include disorders such as mild abdominal pain, back pain, coughs/colds/flu, earache/sore throat, eye problems, mild-moderate asthmatic episodes, minor lacerations, rashes, sprains, urinary symptoms, and vomiting and diarrhea in adults. The Khalidiyah and Al Ettihad Urgent Care Centers are open from 8:00 am until 1:00 am, 7 days a week.
