Amman - The total of remittances by Jordanian expatriates and tourism revenue reached $2.773billion at the end of May 2013, according to the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).

CBJ figures showed that the total of expatriates' remittances rose by 3.1% to $1.4368billion in the first five months of 2013, compared with the same period of 2012. In May alone, remittances of Jordanian expatriates reached $306.3million, the figures showed.

Furthermore, revenue from tourism has declined by 3.5% to reach $1.336billion, compared to $1.384billion for the same period of 2012 as a result of the decline in the number of visitors to Jordan for medical treatment.
