RTA to open flyover in Al Khail Road tomorrow
Dubai, Roads Transport Authority: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is to open the flyover coming from Al Quoz Industrial Area to Al Khail Road. The flyover, which will be open tomorrow 11/08/2012, serves the traffic heading to Dubai and ensures a smooth traffic flow for motorists heading from Al Quoz Industrial Area to Al Khail Road and vice versa.
The opening of this flyover is part of the Al Khail Road development project, Phase II, (T 842/2), at an estimated cost of AED 850 million and the whole project is expected to complete later this year.
Nabil Mohammed Saleh, Director of Roads, RTA, said, "The opening of the flyover is part of the RTA's overall plan aimed to develop a network of roads, bridges, overpasses and tunnels to improve vehicular traffic movement and ease traffic flow from and to various parts of Dubai. The project is also a part of Al Khail Development Project, one of the key strategic projects undertaken by the RTA." The RTA, he said "attaches great importance to the infrastructure in keeping with the directives of our prudent leadership to increase roads traffic capacity, and curb gridlocks in vital areas. The flyover has been fitted with all equipment especially lighting works to serve its users as it streamlines traffic movement between Al Khail Road and Al Quoz Industrial Area.
