Roads & Transport Authority - Majdi Abu Zaid:

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has received a delegation from the St. Mary's University in America comprising several executives and students of the University in a visit sponsored by the Dubai Executive Council. The delegation expressed interest in reviewing the role of the RTA in advocating the standards of the Dubai Government Excellence Program aimed at leveraging the performance of government entities and public offices in Dubai. The delegation also sought to familiarize itself with RTA's Projects Gallery encompassing landmark existing projects and iconic projects underway such as the Dubai Water Canal.

The visit started with a visual presentation describing the vision & mission of the RTA upon which the core tasks of the RTA are based along with the Organization Chart attached to these tasks. It also reviewed RTA's record in government excellence & achievements over the past years highlighted by the Dubai Metro project as well as other services and projects launched by the RTA.

Ms. Shaikha Al Jarman, Director of Development & Corporate Excellence, Strategy & Corporate Governance Sector, said: "The RTA is always keen on enticing various entities to know more about the standards of government excellence it adopts under the context of the Dubai Government Excellence Program and other related efforts. The visit of the American St. Mary's University reflects the interest of a reputed academic institution in figuring out the high-class corporate standards adopted by the RTA in going about its business, especially in the context of a top-notch infrastructure worldwide.

"The visit of the delegation to RTA Projects Gallery acquainted visitors with the outstanding successes made in the infrastructure, and the mega future projects undertaken. The delegation members were impressed by the Gallery; revealing information about the vital contribution of the RTA in serving the present and future of Dubai.
