Amman, August 28, 2011: Royal Jordanian was compelled to reschedule its Saturday and Sunday flights from Amman to New York because of Hurricane Irene that hit the East Coast of the United States, which forced John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, to which RJ operates five weekly flights, to close.

RJ Media & Communication Director and Spokesman Basel Kilani said that the airline had to delay its Saturday and Sunday flights from Amman to New York due to the strong winds and heavy rains that make the above airport un-operational.

He also said that the RJ flights which were scheduled to fly to New York on August 27 will depart at 11:00 on August 29 if the airport reopens; the August 28 flight is scheduled to leave on August 29 at 20:00.

Kilani added that the rescheduled departures depend on the weather conditions in New York and the reopening of the airport, stressing the airline's concern about the safety of its passengers and operations.

He called upon the public to contact the RJ Call Centre at 00962-6-5100000 to get more details about the RJ flights and any changes to the schedule.
