JUBAIL -- The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu has recently invited contractors to submit bids for the contract to relocate existing 380kV transmission lines at its Ras Al-Khair Industrial City.

The work will involve removing the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) lines from their current location and repositioning them in an allocated power area to enable further development of the industrial zone.

The project is the latest of a number of infrastructure schemes that the Royal Commission has tendered for Ras Al-Khair in the past 12 months.

In December 2012, companies were invited to submit bids for the contract to build an industrial wastewater treatment plant (IWTP) at the Ras Al-Khair Industrial City.

The IWTP will have a capacity of 25,000 cubic meters a day. The contract will involve engineering design works, project management, procurement and construction of the plant.

In October, the commission invited contractors to submit bids for the contract to build a sewage treatment plant at Ras Al-Khair Minerals Industrial City.

The sewage treatment plant will have an initial capacity of 8,333 cubic meters a day, which will be expandable to 12,500 meters a day.

The plant will contain two treated sewage storage (TSE) tanks with a capacity of 9,000 cubic meters each and a TSE pump station.

The commission has been allocated an area covering 94 sq. kms in Ras Al-Khair, which is being developed mainly to accommodate industries being set up by the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden).
