DOHA: Qatari-German for Medical Devices (QGMD) signed QR33m worth agreements with three European companies to expand and develop its factory as well as introduce more products. According to the agreements, the expansion will be completed within 12 months.
The three agreements signed by Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani, QGMD's Chairman with representatives of Italian companies: ONOSTAMPI s.r.l., manufacturer of products include cosmetics, medical, electrics and electronics, telecommunication, Kahle, the manufacture of assembly machines for medical devices, and Schottli, a Swiss company producing reliable, high-performance injection moulds at QGMD's premises last Thursday.
The chairman said the agreements signed were related to cooperation, importation and technology transfer and would help QGMD to introduce new production lines such as insulin syringes.
He added the agreements were parts of the company strategic plans to meet the growing demand in the market and also to increase its production capacity. As part of the expansion state-of-the art technology and equipments will be introduced in the factory, he added.
Hazim Abdurrahman Al Sharif said the expansion would enhance the status of QGMD in the market and would allow it to diversify its products as well as reduce the costs and provide high quality products.
