Qatar Investment Authority Raises Xstrata Stake To 8.772%

LONDON (Dow Jones)--LONDON (Dow Jones)-- Qatar Investment Authority , owner of Qatar Holding LLC, said Tuesday it bought 2.71 million shares in diversified mining group Xstrata PLC (XTA.LN) at GBP9.3936, lifting its total holding to 263.4 million shares, or 8.772%.

--Xstrata shares at 0900 GMT, up 9 pence, or 1%, at 949 pence valuing the company at GBP28.5 billion
