KUWAIT: In a move to provide passengers with more flexible travel options, Qatar Airways launched additional daily flights between Kuwait and Doha earlier this month. Qatar Airways, one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, now operates six flights daily from Kuwait to its hub in Doha taking frequency up to 42 weekly services. The new daily flight QR149 departs Kuwait at 0540 (local) and will arrive in Doha at 0700 hrs (local) every day. The additional frequency will provide even more seamless connectivity for passengers travelling to a range of destinations, including flights to the United States, Europe, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, and more.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said: "We have experienced spectacular customer response in the past year in Kuwait and thanks to our excellent connections our passenger growth travelling through Doha has been growing annually exponentially." "As part of our growth strategy, we will continue to step up frequency on existing routes, which is a strong lever to facilitate development in the business and tourism sectors", he added.
Qatar Airways has launched two new routes so far this year, to Baku (Azerbaijan) and Tbilisi (Georgia) respectively; with seven further destinations planned for 2012 including Kigali (Rwanda) from 21 March; Zagreb (Croatia) from 9 May; Perth (Australia) from 3 July; and Gassim (Saudi Arabia), Helsinki (Finland), Mombasa (Kenya), and Zanzibar (Tanzania). Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of 104 aircraft from its Doha hub to over 110 key business and leisure cities across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North and South America and Australia.
