Iraq resumed pumping crude oil through the pipeline linking Kirkuk and Ceyhan, after a bomb blast caused the halt of oil exports six days ago, sources from North Oil Company said.

"Pumping in oil fields in Kirkuk was resumed as normal today, after pumping intermittently on the previous day," The source in the state-owned company said in a statement briefed by "Shafaq News".

The spokesman for the Iraqi Oil Ministry said that the pipeline was blown up on Monday evening and halted crude supplies.

While sources in North Oil Company said on Friday that maintenance crews begin repairing the pipeline and expect to finish its work within 24 to 36 hours.

The official capacity of the pipeline is 1.6 million barrels a day, but often has delay in supplies due to technical problems or attacks on both sides of the border.

Iraq pumps about a quarter of its exports of crude oil through the pipeline, amounting to 2.6 million barrels per day.
