Tehran, June 17, IRNA - As platform A of Phase 13 of South Pars gas field in southern Iran is to be installed by the year-end, the phase is projected to start producing gas as of the first half of next Iranian year (to begin on March 21, 2016).

Head of the board of directors of Sadra Company, one of the contractors working on Phase 13 said Wednesday that all the four jackets have been installed on this phase. 

Qobad Choobdar said that construction of platforms of this phase has made 70% progress so far and all the materials needed for this part have been ordered and bought. 

He said that Sadra company is to construct four offshore platforms with a capacity to produce 500 million cubic feet of gas. 

Pipes laying on offshore parts of this project now shows 70% growth, Choobdar said. 

The aim of developing Phase 13 of South Pars gas field is to produce 50 mcm of sweet natural gas, 80,000 barrels of gas condensates and 400 tons of sulfur daily and 1.1 million tons of liquefied gas and 1 million tons of ethane annually to provide feedstock for Iranian petrochemical industry. 

This gas project is divided into two onshore and offshore parts underway by a consortium comprised of three contractors, namely Petropaydar Iranian, Sadra and Mapna.
