Muscat, Aug. 12, 2008. Oman International Trade & Exhibitions (OITE) , the leading events organizer in the country, in partnership with Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, formally opens the Origin Oman Show today at the Municipality Fair Ground in Salalah.
H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Marhoon bin Ali Al Mamry, Minister of State & Governor of Dhofar, will inaugurate the Origin Oman Show at 7:30pm.
Numerous local brands are all set to showcase locally manufactured products, with the intention to encourage consumers, institutional buyers and companies to try such local produce.
The Origin Oman show is a special opportunity for manufacturers to sell their local products directly to the consumers.
Mr. Ebrahim Taher, OITE's Sales Executive said "A good number of companies will be sampling their products during the week-long event. People in Salalah should take advantage to buy household products and other items at favorable prices".
"The Origin Oman Show is an interesting event as consumers will have a chance to see, touch, buy and taste local products. It provides a special awareness on brand profiles not only to the Omanis but to all visitors at the show", Ms. Vanessa Bosen, OITE's Sales Executive added.
The Origin Oman Show is basically aimed at showcasing locally manufactured products, promoting Oman innovation, entrepreneurship and manufacturing success. Its objective is to boost national pride and to make local entrepreneurs be recognized for their ingenuity and contribution to the local economy.
People in Salalah are encouraged to check out agricultural products and machinery, apparel, textiles and fashion, accessories, food and beverages, base metals, steel pipes, ceramics and marbles, chemicals and allied products, electronic components and supplies, furniture and furnishings, gifts and handicrafts, household appliances and home supplies, dairy and mineral products, paints and decorative coatings, perfumes, colognes, air freshener, rubber and plastic products, among others.
