Omantel launches entertainment service through video calls
MUSCAT -- For the first time in the Sultanate, Omantel Mobile has launched an exciting entertainment service through video calls. It uses the technology of Interactive Video and Voice Response (IVVR) service provided by the company to its subscribers to enable them to enjoy watching a variety of content through their mobile phones.The launch of this service is part of the company's belief in the importance of providing its subscribers with the most up-to-date products as well as value added and entertainment services. It also stems from the company's vision "Together we innovate for a totally connected society."
Commenting on the launch of the service, the Leader of Data and Applications Team in the Consumer Unit at Omantel , Sahar Khalfan al Asmi (pictured) said, " Omantel Mobile renews its commitment to its subscribers through the introduction of the best and highest quality services. This new service comes as part of the company's role as a leader in innovation in the telecom sector in the Sultanate. We provide our subscribers with an advanced entertainment service that enables them to enjoy their favorite entertainment content such as songs, video, comic, and sports clips through mobile phones wherever they are."
Sahar added, "Subscribers of this service can watch their favorite songs from Rotana, comic clips and the latest Indian songs as well as sports clips through mobile phones, without any need to download these clips or any special software or application. They only need to dial 90012421 and make a video call to follow the selected clip at a total cost of 55 baizas per minute only."
Omantel has previously introduced a series of entertainment services including chat service, Hala for the news, trade and business world, sports news, entertainment news through text messages, Samaani and several other innovative services.
