Omantel has announced an initiative - Electronic Cash Register (ECR) - to facilitate the easy top- up of Hayyak service, aimed at increasing customer convenience, as well as supporting the efforts made to save environment.
The initiative is led by Omantel in collaboration with Sale International, the distribution partner of Omantel and Lulu Hypermarkets, one of the sultanate's largest retail chains.
Commenting on the launch of this service, Waleed Mohammed al Rahbi, senior manager, indirect channels at Omantel consumer business unit, said, "We are a responsible operator and we do our best to ensure that we minimise the impact of our operations on the surrounding environment.
"This initiative will contribute to supporting efforts to save the environment on one hand and ensure the convenience and availability of Omantel top up vouchers to our customers on the other hand."
Sale International has been happy to support Omantel in its 'Go Green' initiative. "It's been a pleasure to support Omantel's environmentally friendly initiatives, while at the same time enabling Lulu Hypermarkets to grow their sales through a 'first in Oman' implementation of ECR technology allowing all cash registers to electronically sell Omantel's recharge cards," said Soren Laegaard, Sale International's CEO.
