BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Oman's Galfar Engineering and Contracting (GECS.ON) said it has been awarded two deals worth a combined 19.1 million Omani rials ($49.6 million) for two local construction projects.
One is a two-year deal valued at OMR15 million and awarded by Occidental of Oman. It involves the construction and installation of a pipeline at Safah and Wadi Latham oilfield, Galfar said in a statement posted on the Muscat bourse website on Thursday.
The other contract, valued at OMR4.1 million and awarded by Oman Medical College, involves the construction of additional buildings at a local campus, according to the statement. This project is to be completed before July 2014.
Galfar shares are trading up 0.8% at OMR0.378 Thursday.
