MUSCAT -- Oman LNG announced yesterday the partial financing of the Sur harbour development project in cooperation with the Ministry of Fisheries. The two parties signed the $ 450,000 project agreement in the Ministry of Fisheries. The agreement was signed on behalf of the ministry by Dr. Hamad bin Saeed bin Suleiman al Aufy, Undersecretary, Ministry of Fisheries, and Eng. Amor bin Nasser al Matani, Deputy General Manager, Oman LNG.

The project comprises construction of a 100 meter key wall for ships and fishing boats. The dock depth varies between 3 to 5 meter at low tied. The key wall is composed of concrete moulds of various dimensions with the associated earth works, paving and provision of lighting and water. The key wall location has been chosen near the new fish market building to facilitate the landing of fish across the key wall, so the fish can be directly transferred to the fish market in a hygienic way to assure the best quality.
