Oman: A'Saffa Foods achieves sales growth of 18.45 per cent
MUSCAT: A'Saffa Foods , Oman's largest producer of healthy and tasty food products, celebrated an impressive 2010 performance at its recent annual general meeting announcing increases in sales of up to 18.45 per cent, compared to 2009 as well as gross profit which has grown by 17.83 per cent.The results announced by Eng. Saleh Mohammed Al Shanfari, chairman of A'Saffa Foods , were said to be a result of a team effort from all business units who had worked hard to achieve the common goals they had set for 2010 in order to maximise returns to the shareholders.
Eng Saleh Mohammed Al Shanfari, chairman of A'Saffa Foods said: "It gives me great pleasure to inform you that A'Saffa Foods is consistently achieving growth in all of its business activities despite a challenging year.
"As Oman focuses on food safety and food security through the development of sectors such as agriculture, fisheries and tourism, here at A'Saffa Foods , we are doing all that we can to support the government in achieving their objectives for the next fice years which will increase the opportunities for food related businesses across the Sultanate and the region."
In 2010, the company achieved strong financial results with a new profit after tax of RO3.152 million compared to 2009 net profit of RO2.895 million and sales also increased by 18.45 per cent.
As well as this A'Saffa Foods launched a new corporate identity in 2010 changing from A'Saffa Chicken to A'Saffa Foods in order to introduce a wider variety of healthy food products such as chicken franks, beef franks, beef burgers and minced beef products diversifying into different sectors allowing the company to become a leader in its field by focusing on operational excellence across all activities whilst maintaining even higher standards of safety throughout all of its operations.
In addition, the company was also presented with two awards in 2010, one from the Oman Daily Observer which awarded A'Saffa Foods with first place in the Best Brands category and third position among Oman's greatest 130 brands as well as being nominated as the fourth best Omani brand by Business Today magazine in December 2010.
Receiving both awards was a great honour for the company and a fantastic achievement and testimony to their commitment in building the A'Saffa Foods brand through brand communications and public relations.
Eng Saleh Mohammed Al Shanfari continued: "We expect the food sector will remain highly competitive and A'Saffa Foods will continue to explore new opportunities, strategic alliances and make prompt decisions.
Continuing with capital investment will be highly important to continue our successful growth pattern.
"The demand for A'Saffa Foods products is increasing day by day and to meet this growing demand the board of directors has approved a second expansion of the company designed to increase production by up to 20 per cent."
A'Saffa Foods is Oman's main producer of 100 per cent Halal healthy and tasty foods produced to the very highest of standards in a number of outlets across the Sultanate of Oman which has now expanded into areas such as Salalah, Sohar, Nizwa and Al Kamil all of which have contributed significantly to the sales growth in the domestic market compared to the previous year.
