MUSCAT -- A large number of oil industry professionals from Oman, other GCC countries and other parts of the world will attend three-day fifth Middle East Artificial Lift Forum (MEALF) scheduled to be held at Gulf Hotel Bahrain from February 16. The biennial conference, which was last held in Muscat in 2007, will feature training workshops, a panel session discussion, and over 20 technical presentations that focus on the latest developments in the use of artificial lift technologies in oil production activities. MEALF 2009 has also attracted the participation of many leading companies that will exhibit the latest artificial lift products, equipment, services and systems.

MEALF 2009 is held under the patronage of Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Bahrain's Minister of Oil and Gas Affairs and Chairman of the National Oil and Gas Authority. The conference speakers will consist of artificial lift experts from Petroleum Development Oman, Baker Hughes Centrilift, Borets Company, DynaPump, JPTS Oilfield Services, Kudu Industries, Kuwait Oil Company, Lufkin, Novomet, PCM Oil & Gas, Saudi Aramco, Schlumberger, Tierra Alta, Weatherford International, and Zenith Oilfield Technology.

The exhibitors, on the other hand, will be made up of Al Khorayef Petroleum, Baker Hughes Centrilift, BIW Connectors, Completion Products Ltd, Crossman Automation, Hamdon Wellsite Solutions, Kudu Industries, Kuwait Oil Company, Lufkin, Norris, Novomet, Oil Lift Technology, PFT Systems & Connectors, Pumptools, Quick Connections, Raycom Aerospace, Schlumberger, Sertecpet SA, TAG Controls, Weatherford Oil Tool Middle East, Wood Group ESP, and Zenith Oilfield Technology.

The participating companies at MEALF 2009 come from many countries worldwide, including Canada, Kuwait, Oman, Panama, Singapore, the UAE, UK, and the US. The delegates who have already registered for the training workshops and main conference likewise represent a large number of countries, namely Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Panama, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, the UAE, UK, the US, and Yemen.
