MUSCAT, April 27 (KUNA) -- Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) announced here on Saturday that it is to participate in the forthcoming Third Moroccan-GCC investment forum, to be held in Tangier between May 6 and 8 under the patronage of King Mohammed VI of Morocco.
The event is so important in terms of taking advantage of investment opportunities in the Moroccan Kingdom, particularly in agricultural projects which would help GCC countries to attain their vision in supporting food security projects, as well as establishing joint projects in industrial field as competencies, skilled labor, promising markets, raw materials, and significant strategic locations are available in Morocco beside formation of financial funds to finance joint projects, Khalil Abdullah Al-Khonji, Chairman of OCCI, affirmed in a press statement.
The GCC-Moroccan relations have witnessed a convergence during the past years, in which helped in making a quantum leap in direct GCC investments in the Kingdom which is a positive matter, Al-Khonji added, noting that this development in relations is still insufficient and below the level of aspirations for GCC people with Morocco.
Moreover, he noted that this forum tends to strengthen economic and financial ties between Morocco and GCC states, create an organized space for communication between Moroccan and GCC businessmen, offer investment opportunities for both sides, boost partnerships of private sectors between the two sides, establish Moroccan-GCC companies and support GCC economic presence in the Kingdom.
The upcoming event is expected to attract around 400 decision makers in Morocco and from GCC states. Over 150 business personnel and 100 companies are expected to partake in the forum.
The forum is organized at the initiative of the Federation of GCC Chambers of Commerce and the Federation of Morocco Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services.
