Nokia targets younger crowd with Lumia 720

Wednesday, Apr 03, 2013

Dubai: Nokia has added two more models to its Lumia range — Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 — running on Windows Phone 8.

The mid-range Lumia 720 is the slimmest and lightest in the family. The 4.3-inch IPS LCD ClearBlack display (480 x 800 pixels) is powered by dual-core 1GHz processor and backed by 512MB RAM instead of 1GB on Lumia 820. It has 8GB of internal storage and a microSD slot to expand it up to 64GB. The device may have low pixels per inch but it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2.

The 720 has the same unibody design as its predecessors and Nokia is targeting trendier and younger crowd.

Camera is the main advantage of Lumia 720 with Carl Zeiss optics and 6.7MP LED flash rear camera. The 1.3MP front camera is capable of recording 720p at 30 frames per second. Even though Lumia 720 is not in the top ranks of Nokia’s line-up, it supports 3G, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC and wireless charging.

The non-removable Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery offers a talk time of up to 23 hours on 2G and up to 13 hours on 3G. It is priced at Dh1199.
