Nobu, the high-end Japanese restaurant chain which counts actor Robert De Niro among its investors, is a step closer to opening one of its first hotels in Abu Dhabi after signing a deal with a UAE developer.
Abu Dhabi-based Reem Investments yesterday announced it has signed a letter of intent with Nobu Hospitality to operate and manage a Nobu Hotel planned for the Najmat district of the UAE capital's high-profile reclaimed Reem Island project.
The completed project will boast waterfront views, a Nobu restaurant and retail outlets, Reem Investments said in a statement.
Earlier this year Nobu announced plans to build its first hotel in Las Vegas. The firm, a collaboration between chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Oscar-winner De Niro, and other investors, operates restaurants in more than 20 cities around the world.
The firm can already boast an existing Nobu restaurant located in Dubai's high-profile Atlantis Hotel on the tip of the emirate's iconic Palm Jumeirah development.
