National Plastic Factory to build RO1mn factory
Expected to be open in July this year, the 20,000sq m facility will take the firm's total annual output of plastic packaging, fittings, pipes and accessories to 35,000 tonnes. The new factory will add to the firm's three current plants in Muscat, the UAE and Egypt, which cater to Middle East and African markets.
Speaking to Muscat Daily at the Omanplast Plastics and Rubber Industry Exhibition at the Oman International Exhibition Centre, National Plastic chief executive A K Rajesh Babu said the expansion will help cater to the growing number of projects in Oman and the region.
Babu added that the new plant will also produce new products which the company seeks to introduce into the market, including high density polythene (HDPE) pipes and polypropylene random copolymer (PPR) pipe fittings.
The firm also supplies plastic packaging for the full range of Dettol products as well as for Pif Paf, Air Wick and Vatika shampoo, hair oil and conditioners, among other brands.
