The National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) and Technip have jointly won a $370 million (Dh1.36bn) worth contract from Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (AdmaOpco), the oil company announced.

The objective of the project is to increase processing capabilities of associated gas at Lower and Upper Zakum Fields to up to 440mmscfd in order to cope with future oil production increase.

The project consists of a major platform with two Gas dehydration trains and the related compression and power generation turbines.

The expected total weight of the platform with all equipment on board is in the range of 7000 tones. It is expected to be completed in 36 months.

"Detailed engineering design and procurement of the critical items will be managed by Technip while all the fabrications of the jackets and the assembly of the equipment will be done in NPCC fabrication yard in Mussafah," an announcement from AdmaOpco said yesterday.
