Two records have been set by the rigs of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC).
Announcing this, Masoud Afshar, NIDC's manager for onshore drilling, added that Fath rigs No. 31 and No. 2 by conducting 427 meters and 14,516 meters of drilling activities in one day and one year, respectively.
According to a fax received by Iran Daily, Afshar said that since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started March 21), using 23 heavy drilling rigs, NIDC carried out more than 32,000 meters of drilling and launched 9 oil and gas wells.
He also said NIDC's drilling fleet is currently operational in the provinces of Khorasan Razavi, Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad, Bushehr, Ilam, Fars and Khuzestan as well as the drilling projects of Azadegan and Yadavaran.
Last year, NIDC drilled 53 oil and gas wells, of which 43 were development wells, 4 appraisal, 5 decrepit and one for exploration.
He listed increasing efficiency, improving security and holding training courses for its staff as NIDC's measures in the current year.
NIDC owns 74 light, heavy and ultra-heavy onshore and offshore drilling rigs. The company is among the largest companies in Southwest Asia.
