Manama - The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) today announced The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) as the Lead Empowerment Sponsor for the year-long campaign to celebrate and promote the role of "Women in the Financial and Banking Sector" being held under the patronage of HRH Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW.

As part of the planned activities, there will be a series of events including a number of roundtable and town hall sessions that will bring industry leaders and women of all levels within the sector together to discuss and debate topics of importance. These sessions will lead up to the main "Women in the Financial and Banking Sector Conference" to be held on 30 November 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel.

As Bahrain's first locally owned commercial bank and a leading provider of retail and banking services, NBB plays a key role in the local economy and its sponsorship demonstrates the bank's strong and long-standing commitment to further enhancing the development of women in the workplace.

In addition to further sponsors, the CBB and SCW will soon announce further events and activities planned in cooperation with the support and participation of key industry players.
