Abu Dhabi/ Al Ain - As part of its Emiratisation Initiative aimed at enhancing the participation of UAE citizens in the bank, the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) has launched a part-time employment scheme, for UAE nationals only, to serve the Bank's clients in its various contact centres.

Under the initiative, the new recruits will be working five days a week, for four hours a day with full employment benefits.

Ehab Hassan, Senior Managing Director & Group Chief Human Resources Officer, said: "NBAD is committed to supporting the government initiative and helping Emirati jobseekers by offering them suitable job placements that will ensure stability without affecting personal obligations such as family and education. The part-time employment is an example of NBAD's contributions in providing job opportunities for UAE nationals who are eager to gain knowledge and experience to grow and contribute in the development of the nation."

To qualify for NBAD's part-time employment scheme, candidates should have a minimum of a high school degree; pass CID and medical examination as well asthe interview and assessment process.

Part-time employees will join the Bank's contact centres in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Female candidates who wish to work in a women only workspace can join the Al Ain contact centre, a facility that is managed and staffed exclusively by Emirati women.

As part of its Emiratisation drive, NBAD has launched several programs under Watani to develop and maximise the potential of Emiratis at different stages of their lives. Under the AFAQ Management Trainee Programme, for instance, NBAD sponsors a Master of Science in Finance by recruiting recent university graduates. The Bank also sponsors young Emiratis pursuing bachelor degrees at prestigious international universities through the Tomouh programme. In addition, AlNajah trainee programme was launched in 2014,in collaboration with theEmirates Institute for banking and financial Studies (EIBFS),toenhance high school graduates' understanding of banking.The training lasted 6 months. NBAD sponsors also enrolled university students under the Mustaqbali programme, paying them monthly benefits and guarantying placement upon graduation.

In recognition of its achievements, the Bank has recently received the Human Resources Development Award in banking sector, an award the Bank won in 2004 and 2009 for its outstanding human resources policies and development initiatives.
