Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain: Naseej, the first fully-integrated real estate and infrastructure development company in the MENA region, announced today the appointment of Mr Mohammed A. Rahman Bucheerei, representing Ithmaar Bank, to the Board of Directors.
Mr Bucheerei was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Ithmaar Bank in July 2010. He is a member of the Bank's Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. His appointment to the Board of Ithmaar Bank in March 2010 followed the bank's reorganisation with its then wholly-owned subsidiary, Shamil Bank of Bahrain, where Mr Bucheerei was Board Member and Chairman of the Executive Committee.
Mr Bucheerei also serves on the Boards of Ithmaar Development Company and Solidarity Group (Bahrain), Islamic Investment Company of the Gulf (Bahamas / Sharjah), Faisal Private Bank (Switzerland), and Overland Capital Group. A Bahraini national, he has over 41 years' international experience in commercial and offshore banking, and accounting.
Announcing the appointment, Mr Khalid Abdulla-Janahi, Chairman of Naseej, said: "On behalf of the Board of Directors, I welcome Mr Bucheerei to the Board of Naseej, where we will benefit from his diverse international and regional background, and his vast experience in the banking industry."
