'The Power of Mentoring' event was held at and guests were welcomed by addresses from Tony Bury, Founder and Chairman of Mowgli and Lady Olga Maitland, Chairman of ABBC.

Tony Bury briefed the audience on the impact that the Mowgli-Medafco mentoring programs, which are sponsored by the Arab Partnership Fund under the British Embassy, have had over the past 3 years in Algeria. He talked about the critical role and impact that mentoring plays in supporting entrepreneurship and leadership development to drive economic growth and job creation in Algeria.

The Mowgli Foundation seeks to support the sustainable development of societies through the mentoring and evolution of entrepreneurs and leaders. This is achieved through the provision of unique and unparalleled mentoring and leadership development programs. Mowgli's unique programs enable mentors to develop their capabilities, offer their practical support and share their expertise to help entrepreneurs grow as leaders and expand their businesses, thereby creating new jobs and economic growth.

Kathleen Bury, Mowgli Chief Executive Officer, commented: "Our focus in Algeria over the past 3 years has been primarily focused on embedding Mowgli mentoring philosophies and practices within the Algerian entrepreneurship ecosystem through providing mentoring programs which support entrepreneurs. We now believe that Algeria is ready to take up the mantle of embedding mentoring into their leadership development plans and so we are thrilled to be co-hosting this event, in association with ABBC and Lady Olga Maitland. This event provides a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with a range of corporates, family owned businesses and government departments and ABBC members to see how we can collectively take this forward and further place mentoring at the heart of supporting entrepreneurship and leadership development in Algeria".

Lady Olga Maitland, Chairman of the Algeria British Business Council said, "Algeria is keen to develop its business and management skills. This is hugely important as society moves to diversify and open up its markets. We heard a number of examples from entrepreneurs who said they benefited enormously from the help and advice they had received. This in turn brought positive development to their businesses. The ABBC is proud to support this endeavour. Training in all forms will make a huge difference to the development of Algeria."
