Casablanca Stock Exchange ended the week slightly in the red, the Moroccan All Shares Index (MASI) lost on Friday 0.1% to 4,672.9, and the Most Active Shares Index (MADEX) was down by a minor 0.08% to 3,627.41. Friday's volume totaled a low 68,923 shares generating a turnover of MAD 54.7 million.
Total market capitalization now stands at MAD 210.18 billion.
Itissalat Al Maghrib dragged down the indexes on Friday. The telecom company was down by 0.51% to MAD 82.06 in the heaviest volume of the session.
Shares of BMCE Bank were down by 0.17% to MAD 574. The steel manufacturer SONASID followed suit and shed 0.35% to MAD 860. Its parent company, the diversified conglomerate ONA, continued on its winning streak started Tuesday and gained 0.54% to MAD 925 in the third heaviest volume of the day. The stock gained 4.52% over the week.
Weekly perspective
MASI gained since Monday 0.58%, and MADEX 0.94%. Weekly volume improved by 73% to 733,133 shares. A total of 20 stocks lost ground over the week, 23 were up, and 11 unchanged.
Losers of the week include the IT specialist IB Maroc (-4.42%), class A shares of the pharmaceutical company SOTHEMA (-5.91%), and the insurer AGMA (-7.9%). The biggest decliner of the week ended up being the sugar manufacturer COSUMAR (-13.07%)
Winners, on the other hand, include the volatile paper manufacturer Papelera (+4.74%), the mining company Zelllidja (+6.38%), and the finance company Maroc Leasing (+7.62%). Its competitor Diac Equipment was the biggest winner of the week (+11.11%).
