Mohammed Bin Rashid inspects Dubai Statistics Centre
DUBAI: Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has inspected work at the Dubai Statistics Centre.
During the visit to the Center, Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by H. H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group and senior officials. A presentation on the work of the Dubai Statistics Centre since its inception in 2006 was given by its director Aref Al-Muhairi. Sheikh Mohammed also inspected the Center's 202-2015 statistical strategy which covers the government of Dubai and the business community. He urged stronger cooperation with local departments and the publishing of all data on economic growth, social and health development in Dubai. Among the achievements of the Center are the creation of a modern and comprehensive statistical system for the emirate and winning excellence accolades from Dubai Service Excellence Scheme and ISO 150 9001 certification among other awards. The center's work includes conducting statistical Business Register and surveys on finance, manufacturing, services, internal trade, transportation, storage and communication, construction, foreign investments, non-profit organizations, labour force and a general census of population, housing and establishments, household expenditure and income etc.
