Oman Arab Bank (OAB) was recently honoured by the Ministry of Manpower (MoM) for efforts in the field of employment of national workforce for 2012 and training programmes for its employees.

OAB was chosen as one of the companies honoured at a ceremony held at Al Bustan Palace - a Ritz-Carlton Hotel recently under the patronage of Dr Yahya bin Mahfouz al Mantheri, president of the State Council, in the presence of a number of key government officials and dignitaries, officials and members from the private sector.

The two certificates of honour were received by Abdul Qader Askalan, OAB's chief executive officer. He said, "We are proud to be among the honoured companies like every year. Such recognition proves how interested we are in employing and training national cadres so that they can work with efficiency and professionalism."

"Achieving an Omanisation rate as high as 93 per cent and 85 per cent in leading positions confirms our faith in the ability of Omani cadres to give and produce. We still continue to train and qualify the national workforce and develop their abilities and professional skills as well as providing a suitable working environment because our goal is to render professional services to our clients first and to see the bank is satisfied of the services that it provides."
