ABU DHABI, 5th October, 2015 (WAM) -- The Ministry of Environment and Water has announced its participation at the 10th International Plants Expo Middle East, IPM Dubai 2015, which is being held until October 7th at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The region?s only dedicated horticulture trade show is being organised under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Airports.

Fatima Al Kalbani, the Acting Director of the Plant Health and Development Department at the Ministry of Environment and Water, highlighted that the Ministry's participation is based on its keenness to promote the facilitation and entrepreneurship of agribusiness by educating participating companies and customers at the Expo about procedures and requirements for import and export of plants and plant products, as well as to inform about the Ministry's electronic services which are designed to facilitate customer business.

Al Kalbani added, "Our participation is also to learn from the experiences of other countries in the field of agriculture, aiming to achieve sustainable development and improve our procedures, actions and services to protect our plant wealth, prevent the entry of agricultural pests, and to facilitate procedures for import and export.

Al Kalbani said that to facilitate customer business, the Ministry has converted all services related to the import and export of plants, plant products, fertlisers, pesticides, and honey bees into smart electronic services and applications, whereby customers can easily and conveniently apply for the related export or import services.

In conclusion, Al Kalbani indicated that the exhibition covers all aspects of the horticulture sector, including greenhouses, plant nurseries, gardening centres, suppliers of plants and flowers, landscaping, and architects and contractors.

The exhibition will provide opportunities and potential for the development of the plants industry in the region. IPM Dubai 2015 will present different plants and flowers, technology, protection techniques for plants, floristry, logistics for plants, promotions, services, and designs for plant showrooms and stores. In addition, participants and visitors will have the opportunity to learn about different plants, latest designs, landscapes and latest technology of gardening, as well as irrigation systems and garden decorations.
