MUSCAT -- Shaikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service recently honoured Abdul Kadir Askalan the CEO of Oman Arab Bank in an appreciation for the efforts initiated by the bank in corporate social responsibility.

The bank sponsored recently the open day ceremony held at the Civil Aviation Club and organised by the ministry for its employees and their families.

OAB offered its banking services for the employees of the ministry during the ceremony. OAB's support for this occasion is a confirmation on its social commitment and its keen interest in supporting the ministries and the establishments that hold such occasions.

The open day of the concern ministry came to assure the care and the interest of the Ministry for its employees and their families.

Abdul Kadir Askalan said that the social role played by an organisation has become the backbone of its relations with the society where it operates. It is no longer acceptable for an organisation to distance itself away from the society and environment in which it operates. This in turn stresses the high importance attributable to social activities of humanitarian, cultural and sportive significance and the necessity for extending support to them in order to create a cohesive society blessed with the spirit of co-operation and caring for others.

Oman Arab Bank has been keen to adopt this trend over its course of activities. OAB annually participates in numerous social and charity activities and projects with constructive humanitarian aims.

It always takes part in commercial exhibitions and regularly contributes to supports several important events and activities as well in line with its Corporate Social Responsibility.
