Middle East's inaugural homeland security event receives strong demand for exhibit space
Over 60 percent of space booked, 7 months prior to showAbu Dhabi, 18 July 2007: Well-established international defense and security companies including Thales , EADS and SAGEM will join a host of other equipment and technology providers from around the world at ISNR Abu Dhabi, the Middle East's first event focused exclusively on homeland security, to be held in March 2008.
Reed Exhibitions, organizers of the show, said today that over 60 percent of the gross exhibit area of 13,000 square metres has been booked, seven months in advance of the event. Other well-known names who have confirmed their presence at the show include Honeywell , IBCOL, IGG, ADCOM , MP3 International, Nabooda, EAE, Advanced Integrated Systems and the Al Hamra Group.
"The strong demand for exhibit space at the show reflects the increasing potential in the region for equipment and technologies to protect national borders, build disaster resilience and counter international terrorism", said Mohamad Nabhani, ISNR Abu Dhabi's Show Director.
A study commissioned by Reed Exhibitions in 2006 concluded that the Middle East's security market will be worth over AED 7.7 billion next year (2008) and will grow at a rate of over 50 percent to reach AED 11.8 billion in 2013. In 1998 security spending in the region was just over AED 2.9 billion.
The large scale destruction caused by cyclone Gonu in Oman has highlighted the role of governments in dealing with natural disasters as well as man-made emergency situations. ISNR Abu Dhabi will therefore provide a comprehensive look at homeland security issues and provide solutions to enable governmental authorities to respond resiliently to natural disasters as well as man-made ones.
"Global defence and security players are aware of the growing focus in the Middle East on addressing homeland security issues and are keen to capitalise on the Middle East's market potential by showcasing their solutions and technologies", Nabhani said.
"ISNR Abu Dhabi had been extensively promoted at several leading defense and security shows worldwide including the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, IDEF-Turkey (International Defence Industry Fair) and the Global Security Exhibition in Singapore and we are very pleased with the response," he added.
ISNR Abu Dhabi is the second leg in the ISNR series and follows ISNR London which will be held 4-5 December 2007 at the National Hall, Olympia, London. Besides the exhibition, ISNR Abu Dhabi will also consist of a high-level conference and workshops by companies that specialize in high-end security technology, systems and services.
ISNR Abu Dhabi incorporates the former Security and Safety Middle East, Infosecurity and APTS (Airport, Port & Transport Security) Middle East exhibitions.
