KUWAIT: Many patients are reeling under the high price of medicines being sold in the country . They said that prices are on the rise and that officials are fail to counter the phenomenon.
Citizen Talal Al-Mubarak who was at a medical store said, "I came to buy some medicines, which I used to get from the hospital earlier." He confirmed that prices are high and cannot be compared with GCC countries.
Another citizen Ali Al-Tabbakh said that medicine price in Kuwait is the highest in the Gulf region. While citizen Ahmad Al-Owais called for coordinating with neighboring countries to unify medicine prices and curb price hike.
Dr Ali Ashkanani said that medicines are expensive and prices are determined by the country of origin and the quality of the medicine, and that prices vary from one company to another.
