Marriott to manage beach resort in Salalah
Marriott International will manage its first property, the 234-room Salalah Beach Marriott Resort, in Oman under a contract signed yesterday with Dhofar Tourism Company .The resort scheduled to open in December, will be part of a mixed-used, beachfront development located approximately 75 kilometres from Salalah.
"We are thrilled that we will soon be represented in Oman," said Ed Fuller, president and managing director for international lodging for Marriott International . He said: "Oman has worked hard over the last several years to promote its tourism sector. We look forward to participating in their efforts to encourage tourism in the country and ensure visitors to Oman experience a welcoming environment."
Osama Mariam, Chief Executive Officer, of Dhofar Tourism Company SAOG, said: "We are delighted Marriott International has partnered with us to launch their first property in the Sultanate of Oman. Holidaymakers will experience Marriott's hospitality and signature style at the prestigious Salalah Marriott Beach Resort."
The resort's dining and entertainment options will include a casual, all-day restaurant, a seafood outlet, an Arabic café and an English pub. The resort's open-space lobby will have a lounge and a bar.
Recreational amenities include a spa and fitness centre, an outdoor swimming pool with separate adult and kids activities (play ground area) and a dive centre.
