About 100 local, international companies take part
MUSCAT -- Commerce and Industry Minister Maqbool bin Ali Sultan yesterday opened the Interiors & Buildex 2008, an international exhibition that features over 100 local and international companies offering a wide range of products. The inaugural function was attended by ministry officials, ambassadors and diplomats, the top management of participating companies and a large number of industry professionals. The guests joined the minister as he visited the stalls which showcase the requirements of the building and construction industry -- ranging from air conditioning systems, paint products, interior furnishings and heavy equipment to ceramics and tiles, marble products, pipes and fittings besides others.
"Interiors and Buildex supports the continued growth of the building and construction industry in Oman by presenting under one roof the products now available in the local market as well as by bringing in new products that can serve their growing requirements," said C J Paul, General Manager of Omanexpo, the leading exhibition management company in Oman. The three-day exhibition concludes tomorrow. The timings are from 10 am to 1 pm and from 4.30 pm to 9 pm. Since it is a trade exhibition, it is open only to all visitors over the age of 16. One major highlight is the Turkish national pavilion, which consists of over 20 companies that are introducing their products for the first time in Oman.

Companies from Belgium, China, Egypt, Germany, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are also participating in the exhibition.
