Kuala Lumpur, 14 February 2012 - The 9th Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) Summit, which is scheduled to be held on 15 - 17 May 2012, will commence with two Country Showcases and a Special Session on Promoting Financial Inclusion through Islamic Microfinance on 15 May 2012.  Malaysia and Turkey have confirmed their participation in the Country Showcases. This 9th Summit, which is being hosted by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, is themed, "Global Financial Reforms: The Changing Regulatory Model and Islamic Finance". It will be held at Swissôtel The Bosphorus Istanbul, Turkey.The Country Showcases aim to provide platforms for countries who wish to promote themselves as centres for Islamic finance. It also provides the IFSB members and members of the global financial community the opportunity to network while opening possibilities to potential investments and business partnerships. The two sessions will feature country presentations by Turkey and Malaysia respectively, and each presentation will be followed by a networking session. The Pre-Summit events will be followed by the main Summit on 16 and 17 May 2012. The IFSB will announce the list of confirmed chairpersons and speakers for the Summit in due course.
